Transforming Indian Cocoa: From Commodity to Fine Flavour Origin
A Flagship Initiative by Krishitarang
Location: Eluru & West Godavari Districts, Andhra Pradesh
Overview
India’s cocoa sector stands at a critical inflection point. While the country is among the emerging producers of cocoa, much of its output is still traded as a bulk commodity, limiting income potential for farmers and restricting India’s presence in the global premium chocolate market.
Krishitarang is launching a pioneering initiative in Eluru and West Godavari, aimed at transforming cocoa from a low-value commodity into a high-quality, traceable, fine flavour origin product.
This project seeks to build a globally competitive cocoa ecosystem, unlocking higher incomes for farmers while positioning Andhra Pradesh as a leading origin for premium cocoa.
